History of 45 Day

Criztoz created 45 Day in 2019 to bring people across the globe together to play 7-inch vinyl records on a single shared date. The initial concept focused on building community through physical gatherings. When the COVID-19 pandemic began, the organizers adapted by shifting the project online to keep the community connected.

During this online phase, DJs started recording 45-minute mixes using only 7-inch records, establishing a new core tradition. The initiative expanded to include Mixcloud radio broadcasts, global livestreams, talk shows discussing mental health, and programs like 45 Kids for young DJs. As public spaces reopened, the community returned to physical venues with live events operating under the We Love 45s banner.
