History of National Lemonade Day

Michael Holthouse founded National Lemonade Day in 2007 in his hometown of Houston, Texas. He wanted to give youth a hands-on way to learn what it takes to run a small business. The idea was simple: let kids set up lemonade stands and experience the entire process of starting and operating a company. What began as a local event quickly grew into a national movement.

Today, LemonadeDay.org partners with Google and other organizations to expand the program.
